Machine Gun Kelly, born Richard Colson Baker on April 22, 1990, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. Hailing from Houston, Texas, and later moving to Cleveland, Ohio, Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) gained prominence for his energetic and diverse style that blends elements of rap, rock, and pop-punk.

MGK's breakthrough came with the release of his mixtapes, particularly "Lace Up" (2010) and "EST 4 Life" (2012). His debut studio album, "Lace Up" (2012), included the hit single "Wild Boy" featuring Waka Flocka Flame. MGK's music often reflects his personal experiences, struggles, and his journey in the music industry.

In addition to his rap career, MGK has explored rock and pop-punk influences in his music, as seen in projects like "General Admission" (2015) and "Bloom" (2017). He gained further attention for his collaborative efforts with artists from different genres.

One of MGK's notable ventures is his role as an actor. He has appeared in films such as "Beyond the Lights" (2014) and "Nerve" (2016). However, his most significant acting role came in 2019 when he portrayed Tommy Lee in the biopic "The Dirt," which tells the story of the rock band Mötley Crüe.

In 2020, MGK underwent a significant musical shift, fully embracing pop-punk with his fifth studio album, "Tickets to My Downfall." The album marked a departure from his previous rap-oriented sound and received positive reviews for its authentic and nostalgic approach to the pop-punk genre.
