Jeezy, born Jay Wayne Jenkins on September 28, 1977, is an American rapper and entrepreneur who rose to prominence as a key figure in the Southern hip-hop scene. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Jeezy gained recognition for his gritty lyricism, street-oriented themes, and contributions to the subgenre of trap music.
Jeezy initially gained attention as a member of the hip-hop group United Streets Dopeboyz of America (USDA). His breakthrough came with his solo debut album, "Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101," released in 2005. The album, often referred to as a trap classic, featured hits like "Soul Survivor" and "Go Crazy" and established Jeezy as a force in the rap industry.
Continuing his success, Jeezy released a series of acclaimed albums, including "The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102" (2006), "The Recession" (2008), and "TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition" (2011). His music often reflects his experiences growing up in the streets and addresses social and economic issues faced by the African American community.
