About
Marvin Gaye and Miles Davis neither performed on the same stage together nor had the opportunity to record with each other. “I was highly influenced by Miles Davis as a trumpet player and by Marvin Gaye as a vocalist. I imagined what it would have sounded like if Miles and Marvin joined forces to form a band.” Thus, the concept album “Marvin Meets Miles” was birthed by Johnny Britt.
In 2023, Britt received the Lifetime Achievement Award from The White House. He was also the trumpet soloist in the Emmy award winning “Hidden Figures” and has an on-camera feature as a trumpet soloist in Oscar nominated “La La Land” with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
Johnny Britt has also worked with the likes of Maxwell, The Temptations, Quincy Jones, David Bowie, Josh Groban, John Legend, Common, Mary J. Blige and The Happy Together Tour with Little Anthony.
