The Go-Go's rose to fame in the early 1980s with their debut album, "Beauty and the Beat," which became the first album by an all-female band to top the Billboard 200 chart. The album included hits like "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "We Got the Beat," which helped define the new wave sound of the era.

Despite various lineup changes over the years, The Go-Go's have continued to perform and record music, with their unique blend of pop, punk, and rock influences. They are considered one of the pioneering bands of the new wave genre and have left a lasting impact on the music industry.
