The Doobie Brothers are an American rock band formed in San Jose, California, in 1970. The band's music has encompassed genres such as rock, R&B, and pop, and they are known for their tight harmonies and catchy melodies.

The Doobie Brothers achieved mainstream success in the 1970s with hits like "Listen to the Music," "China Grove," and "Black Water." They continued to release successful albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, with a brief hiatus in the early 1980s before reuniting in 1987.

Over the years, The Doobie Brothers have undergone several lineup changes, but they have maintained a core group of members, including Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, and John McFee. They continue to tour and perform, and in 2020, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
