Boston is an American rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1976. The band's original lineup consisted of Tom Scholz (guitar, keyboards), Brad Delp (vocals), Barry Goudreau (guitar), Fran Sheehan (bass), and Sib Hashian (drums). Boston is known for their melodic rock sound and their use of layered guitars and harmonies.
Boston achieved mainstream success with their self-titled debut album, released in 1976, which included hits like "More Than a Feeling," "Peace of Mind," and "Foreplay/Long Time." The album became one of the best-selling debut albums in U.S. history.
Despite various lineup changes over the years, Boston has continued to release music and tour, with Tom Scholz remaining the primary songwriter and driving force behind the band. They are considered one of the pioneering bands of the arena rock genre and have sold millions of albums worldwide.
