Force MD's originated in Staten Island, New York, in the early 1980s. The original lineup included brothers Stevie D. and Antoine "T.C.D." Lundy, Trisco Pearson, Jesse Daniels, and Rodney "Khalil" Lundy. The group's name stands for "Force - Musical Diversity," reflecting their intention to showcase a range of musical styles.
Force MD's made a significant impact with their unique blend of R&B harmonies and hip-hop influences. They gained attention for their smooth vocals, balladry, and the incorporation of beatboxing into their performances.
In 1984, Force MD's released their debut album, "Love Letters," which included the hit single "Tender Love." The ballad became one of their most successful songs and is often associated with the soundtrack of the film "Krush Groove." "Tender Love" showcased the group's ability to deliver soulful and romantic ballads, setting them apart in the R&B landscape.
